Four Days of Fun

Enjoy four days of springtime learning. You will find activities to do with the whole family. First, enjoy listing to a story to get started on each springtime topic. The stories have a springtime fact. Try out the quiz at the end of day 4. Next, try out the fun snack recipes, make a craft, and enjoy a fun science experiment. The material needed can be found around your home. Click on the yellow button.

Rain Stick Craft

Possible Materials:

  • 1 paper towel roll

  • A bag with rice/noodles, beads, cake sprinkles

  • Yarn

  • Two elastics

  • Flower pattern mactac paper

  • Two muffin cups 

  • Aluminum foil

Exploring with Science

Water Cycle Science Experiment 

You will need: 

  • Bag

  • Black Marker

  • Paint to make watercolour or Food Colouring

  • Tape

You will need: 

  • 1 white pieces of paper

  • Watercolour paint

  • 1 construction paper

  • Black marker

  • Scissors 

  • Glue stick or tape

Exploring with Science

Planting Science Experiment

You will need: 

  • Soil

  • Bean Seed or another type of seed

  • Container to plant the seed

  • Recording sheet

  • Water

  • Ruler or an object to measure with such as lego blocks.

Bird Feeders 

You will need: 

  • A container of some sort

  • Something sticky: honey, jam, peanut butter

  • Bird Seed

    Watch the video for ideas on how to make your bird feeder with things found around your home.

Exploring with Science

Egg Salt Water Science Experiment

You will need: 

  • Recording sheet

  • Glass or container to hold the water and egg

  • Egg

  • ½ to 1 cup salt depending on the size of your container. Keep pouring salt in until the egg starts to float. (regular table salt works)

  • Warm Water

  • Bottle of some kind

  • Baking soda

  • Funnel 

  • Vinegar
